“The River” presents an adventure-paranormal story created by Michael R. Perry and Michael Green for the ABC channel.
Dr. Emmet Cole is a television celebrity, who became famous because of his wildlife documentary. He disappears when he goes in a “magic” search in the rainforest of Amazon. Six months later, his wife, Tess, and son, Lincoln and a group of friends go in search of him.
Once arrived in the Amazon jungle, the whole crew feels watched, not just by evil spirits, but by TV cameras. This expedition turns into a dangerous adventure, where supernatural phenomenons are everywhere and they must defend their own lives.
The mistery of the show is that you don`t know who will survive till the next season. Bruce, throughout his career, always told his viewers that in the natural world there is ‘some magic out there” and now the group gets to explore what his phrase meant.
All the supernatural moments are filled with credibility, and give the viewer the feeling that those things are really happening.
